Veiko
Kespersaks is a fully qualified calligraphy
teacher with both a BA and MA in Calligraphy
from Roehampton University. Since 1993 he
has both devised and taught the short and
long term courses in calligraphy at the
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences
in Finland, where he has also pioneered
calligraphy distance learning programmes.
Since 2002 he has also been teaching calligraphy
workshops in the UK including tutoring at
the CLAS Summer Festival 2005.
Short
and long term workshops
The content of workshops can vary from working
with specific historic alphabets, modern
calligraphy and layout design or craft techniques.
There, courses are supported by demonstrations,
discussions, lectures and individual tuition
to students of all levels. The emphasis
has always been on encouraging students
to understand the history, concepts and
principles of craftsmanship.
Teaching
programs can be devised for one to six day
workshops or for longer extended studies
lasting from three months to up to five
years.
