Veiko Kespersaks is a fully qualified calligraphy teacher with both a BA and MA in Calligraphy Roehampton University, London. He is a Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators (FSSI) and a Fellow of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (FCLAS). Since 1993 he has both devised and taught the short and long term courses in calligraphy at the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences Fine Art Kankaanpää in Finland, where he has pioneered BA calligraphy distance learning programmes. Since 2000 he has been teaching calligraphy workshops in UK including tutoring Calligraphy at The Mary Ward Centre, Holborn London.
Short
and long term workshops
The content of workshops can vary from working with specific historic alphabets, modern calligraphy and layout design or craft techniques. Courses are supported by demonstrations, discussions, lectures and individual tuition to students at all levels. The emphasis has always been on encouraging students to understand the history, concepts and principles of craftsmanship.
Teaching
programs can be devised for one to six day workshops or for longer
extended studies lasting from three months to up to five years.
